The Olympic year started with the OTC - EJU Training camp in Mittersill, Austria. A total of 1100 athletes from 67 nations took the advantage of training with the best and preparing for the season.

It was incredible to see so many top-athletes from different nations all striving for the same goal gathered at one place training with each other. This is something you can’t find in any other sports, and this is what makes Judo special.

The athletes enjoy Mittersill year after year, combining hard training sessions with fun skiing or sledging trips in the beautiful Austrian Alpes. Of course, many IPPON GEAR fighters attended the 27th edition of the camp.

For example, Vice World Champion Matthias Casse of Belgium started into his Olympic year in Austria, together with teammate Jorre Verstraeten. Amongst others, our athletes from Czech Republic, Hungary, Denmark, Croatia, Greece and host nation Austria benchmarked themselves during the OTC.

We are very excited for the upcoming final months in the Olympic Qualification period. The competition season will kick off with the IJF Grand Prix in Tel Aviv, Israel, from January 23rd-25th 2020 and we are sure to see many of our athletes back on the podium. Stay tuned for updates on the IPPON GEAR team performance.
